19-YEAR-OLD SHS STUDENT SHOT IN DANCHIRA DEMOLITION CHAOS

A 19-year-old Senior High School student, Nii Lamptey, was shot by police in Danchira, a suburb of Accra, in an incident linked to a land dispute.

The shooting occurred when a private individual attempted to demolish structures on a 700-acre property, sparking tensions in the area.

Eyewitnesses say the situation escalated, with some aggrieved residents allegedly attacking the Danchira Police Station. Police officers responded to restore order, and it was during this confrontation that Nii Lamptey, who was in the vicinity buying something, was hit by a stray bullet.
