Police Probe Death of Ofori Panin SHS Nurse Found at Kukurantumi Junction

The Eastern South Regional Police Command has opened investigations into the death of Eddie Cann, a nurse at Ofori Panin Senior High School, after he was found unresponsive by the roadside at Kukurantumi Junction early Friday morning.

According to eyewitnesses, the nurse was discovered lying beside his motorbike near the junction, opposite a washing bay, at about 2:00 a.m. Police officers responded swiftly to the scene, secured the area, and transported him to a nearby health facility for emergency care. He was later pronounced dead.

The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear. Investigators are yet to determine whether he was involved in a road accident or if other factors were at play. His motorbike was found at the scene and has been retained as part of the inquiry.

The body has been deposited at the morgue for preservation and autopsy to establish the exact cause of death. Police say no conclusions have been drawn at this stage.

Officials of Ofori Panin SHS described Cann as a committed health professional who played a key role in supporting the wellbeing of students and staff. Colleagues also paid tribute to his dedication and calm manner in handling medical cases at the school.

The Eastern South Regional Police Command has appealed to the public for any information that could assist in piecing together the events leading to his death.

Investigations are ongoing.
