MTN Ghana Foundation Celebrates Bright Scholarship Beneficiaries’ Outstanding Academic Achievements

The MTN Ghana Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to education as a powerful driver of social transformation, as eight beneficiaries of its flagship Bright Scholarship emerged as top award winners and valedictorians at the end of their tertiary education.

The outstanding achievements of the scholars underscore the impact of MTN Ghana Foundation’s deliberate investment in academically gifted but financially constrained students.

Speaking at the gathering to honour the scholars, Adwoa Afriyie Wiafe, Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer of MTN Ghana, commended the beneficiaries for turning opportunity into achievement and purpose.

“What you have achieved is not simply the result of intelligence; it is a testament to your tenacity. We are incredibly proud of each one of you, and we want you to carry this momentum forward. Excellence should not be a destination; it must become a way of life,” she said.

The scholars, who distinguished themselves across various tertiary institutions, were celebrated for their academic excellence, resilience, and determination.

One of the beneficiaries, Issahaku Hamdia, a graduate of the University for Development Studies, shared how the scholarship altered the trajectory of her life. “When I first heard about the scholarship, I was not sure I stood a chance.

But MTN believed in me before I fully believed in myself. That belief changed everything, not just my finances, but my confidence, my sense of purpose, and my belief that someone out there genuinely cared about my future.”

The MTN Bright Scholarship remains a cornerstone of MTN Ghana Foundation’s education pillar, and one of the most impactful private-sector interventions in tertiary education in Ghana.

By supporting high-performing students with demonstrated need, the programme continues to develop a pipeline of skilled, confident and motivated graduates who are better positioned to contribute to national development.
