The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zionite, Mr. Abdulai Sakra Alhassan, widely known as Zionite, a prominent businessman and philanthropist in the Krowor Constituency, has been tipped as the favourite to emerge victorious as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Krowor constituency elections kick off today.
The atmosphere in Krowor is charged with high expectations as delegates converge to elect new constituency executives who will lead the party into the 2028 general elections.
Mr. Alhassan, whose name has become synonymous with youth empowerment and grassroots development in Krowor, is contesting in what political watchers have described as a highly competitive race, but one in which he holds a decisive advantage.
Strong Grassroots Support
Sources within the party indicate that Mr. Alhassan has garnered massive support from the grassroots, branch executives and youth groups across the constituency, owing to his long-standing contributions to the party and the community.
Known for his philanthropic works, including support for party activities, educational initiatives and community development projects, his candidacy is said to have resonated strongly with delegates who are seeking a leader with both business acumen and a commitment to party welfare.
“From Nungua to Baatsonaa and beyond, his presence is felt. He has been with the party through thick and thin and his loyalty is not in doubt,” a delegate told this portal.
Eyes on Victory
As voting commences, many delegates believe that Mr. Abdulai Sakra Alhassan represents a new face of leadership – a blend of entrepreneurship, strategic thinking and deep-rooted party loyalty needed to strengthen the NDC’s structures in Krowor, a key constituency in the Greater Accra Region.
Popularly known as Zionite, his campaign, anchored on the themes of unity, empowerment, and victory for 2028, has focused on rebuilding party structures, creating opportunities for the youth and women, and ensuring that the NDC reclaims and retains power in the constituency.
Political analysts in the constituency suggest that his strong organizational skills and ability to mobilize resources put him ahead of his contenders.
High Stakes Election
The Krowor constituency election is part of the nationwide constituency elections being held by the NDC to elect executives who will steer the affairs of the party at the constituency level.
Hundreds of delegates are expected to cast their ballots in what is anticipated to be a peaceful but fiercely contested election.
As at the time of filing this report, voting was underway under heavy security presence, with party officials ensuring strict adherence to electoral guidelines.
