The newly elected Chairman of the Krowor Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Abdulai Sakra Alhassan, widely known as Zionite, has called for a united front within the party as it sets its sights on the 2028 general elections.

Mr. Alhassan made the call shortly after securing a resounding victory in the constituency chairmanship race, which was held as part of the party’s nationwide constituency executive elections.

Speaking to journalists after his emphatic win, Chairman Alhassan said his victory was a victory for the entire NDC family in Krowor and stressed the need to put all differences behind them.

“No Team Zionite, No Team Others – We Are One Family”
According to him, he is a unifier by nature and will run an all-inclusive administration that brings every member on board.
“I am a unifier and henceforth there is no Team Zionite and Team Others. We are all one family under the umbrella, the NDC,” he declared.

He noted that the competitive nature of the internal elections sometimes creates divisions, but it is imperative that the party heals quickly and channels its energy towards the bigger battle ahead.
New Strategy For 2028
Chairman Alhassan further stated that retaining power in 2028 will require a new strategy, dynamism and hard work from all levels of the party.

He explained that the 2028 general elections demand a different approach from previous years, anchored on unity, vigilance and grassroots mobilization.
“The general elections in 2028 must have a new strategy and dynamic approach with hard work to make us retain the presidential seat, and this is just the beginning,” he said.
Reflecting on his political journey, Mr. Alhassan recalled his unsuccessful attempt at the chairmanship four years ago, noting that lessons from that defeat shaped his comeback.

“We came four years ago for this chairmanship race and it didn’t work, and this time we came with a strategic and vigilant approach and we’ve won,” he added.
Chairman For All, Committed To Mahama’s Legacy
Chairman Alhassan assured party members that he will be a Chairman for all, irrespective of who they supported in the elections.
He pledged to uphold and defend the good works and vision of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, whose leadership he said continues to inspire hope across the country.
“I am a Chairman for all, and I am going to uphold and defend the good works of H.E. John Dramani Mahama,” he emphasized.
He called on all aggrieved parties, aspirants who lost, and their supporters to join hands with his new executive to build a stronger and more formidable NDC in Krowor.
The newly elected Chairman also expressed gratitude to delegates for the confidence reposed in him and promised not to let them down.
The Krowor constituency election was largely described as peaceful, credible and well-organized, with heavy security presence ensuring order throughout the process.
