The suspect, identified as Mahama Aminat, also known as Akosua Serwaa Minat, was picked up on May 20, 2026, at Sekyere Zongo in the Sekyere Kumawu District of the Ashanti Region. The arrest was carried out by the Inspector-General of Police’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) in collaboration with the Surveillance Unit of the National Operations Department.

In a statement, the Ghana Police Service said it remains committed to taking action against individuals who use social media platforms to spread threats, offensive conduct, and content capable of disturbing public peace and national security.
