A new report examining Ghana’s unemployment situation is scheduled for release in the coming days, according to Prof. Smart A. Sarpong, Head of Research and political analyst at Kumasi Technical University, KsTU.

The study is expected to provide updated data on joblessness across the country, with a focus on current employment trends, sector-specific challenges, and the experiences of job seekers navigating the labor market.

Speaking ahead of the release, Prof. Sarpong said the survey was conducted to assess the present state of unemployment and produce evidence that can support policy discussions on job creation and economic planning.

While the scope of the survey, sample size, and key findings have not yet been made public, the report is anticipated to feed into ongoing national conversations around youth employment, hiring practices in the private and public sectors, and broader economic reforms aimed at expanding opportunities.
Prof. Sarpong has previously led several socioeconomic and public perception surveys at KsTU, with findings that have been referenced in policy debates in Ghana.
Details on the date and venue for the official presentation of the report are expected to be announced shortly.
