Miblackq Releases New Single “Tired,” Two Years After Breakout Hit “Bless Me”

Two years after his breakout single “Bless Me” introduced him to Ghana’s music scene, Kumasi-based highlife/Afrobeats artiste Adu Gyamfi Herbert, known professionally as Miblackq, is set to return to the airwaves with a new release titled “Tired.”

The forthcoming single marks the artiste’s first major drop since March 27, 2024, when “Bless Me” gained traction on regional radio and social media.

Since then, Miblackq has steadily built his catalog with four additional releases  “Sugar,” “Na-you,” “Toto,” and “Tired”  positioning himself as one of the emerging voices carrying Kumasi’s sound to a wider audience.

Grounded in Tafo and Maakro: Music Born from Experience

Raised between Tafo and Maakro, two of Kumasi’s most vibrant and densely populated communities, Miblackq says his songwriting is rooted in personal experience rather than fiction.

“My music comes from life,” he said. “I’ve been through a lot in the stages of life, but I never gave up till now. I use my journey as a testimony for the youth that there’s hope for everyone. Regardless of your background or struggles, consistency and belief can take you far.”

That message of resilience struck a chord when “Bless Me” was released. The track blended traditional highlife rhythms with contemporary Afrobeats production, earning airplay on Kumasi stations and creating early buzz around the artiste’s name.

Steady Growth Through Consistent Releases

In the period following his debut, Miblackq has maintained a disciplined release pattern aimed at keeping listeners engaged while refining his sound.

Sugar” explored themes of romance and attraction. “Na-you” leaned into street energy and confidence. “Toto” delivered dancefloor appeal. Now, “Tired” the new single reportedly focuses on struggle, exhaustion, and the determination to keep moving despite fatigue.

DJs, promoters, and radio presenters in the Ashanti Region say Miblackq’s strength lies in his ability to balance relatable storytelling with infectious hooks. That balance has helped him expand beyond Kumasi, with streaming platforms pushing his music to listeners across Ghana and in the diaspora.

“Tired”: A Song for the Hustling Generation

According to team members close to the project, “Tired” retains the uplifting spirit that defined “Bless Me” but comes with more matured songwriting and polished production.

The title reflects a sentiment many young Ghanaians relate to: the weariness that comes with daily hustle, paired with the refusal to give up.

“This song is for every young person who wakes up tired but still steps out to chase their dreams,” Miblackq explained.

“I’ve felt that exhaustion. Sometimes you question yourself, sometimes you want to quit. ‘Tired’ is a reminder that your breakthrough is closer than it feels.”

Music bloggers and radio programmers say the timing aligns with a broader shift in Ghana’s music industry, where audiences are increasingly receptive to authentic voices from outside Accra. Kumasi, in particular, is seeing renewed attention as a hub for highlife and Afrobeats talent, and Miblackq’s return is expected to add to that momentum.

Beyond Music: A Message of Hope

For Miblackq, the goal extends beyond chart positions and streaming numbers. He views his platform as a space to inspire.

“I’m not just making music for entertainment,” he stated. “I’m sharing my testimony. If one person hears my story and decides not to give up, then every struggle has meaning.”

With “Tired” scheduled for release on radio and digital platforms in the coming weeks, fans and industry observers will be watching to see how the artiste builds on the foundation of “Bless Me” and strengthens his position among Ghana’s next generation of music talents.

As Kumasi continues to export new sounds, Miblackq’s journey from Tafo and Maakro to national airwaves offers another example of how persistence and authenticity can turn local recognition into lasting impact.
