The Founder and Leader of Pillar of Zion Church International, Evangelist Akwasi Awuah has charged Christians to remain vigilant in their faith, warning that the world and Satan are working to deceive believers and draw them away from God.
Speaking during an all-night church service on July 3, the evangelist said the devil is “very deceitful” and seeks to take control of both the heart and soul of Christians.
“Satan steals your heart and mind, puts ungodly things in you and makes you his servant,” Evangelist Awuah told the congregation. “Be vigilant to love God and ignore the world.”
Warning Against Worldly Friendships and Greed
Quoting 1 John 2:15-17, Evangelist Awuah cautioned believers against forming close ties with people who promote worldly values, saying such friendships can lead people “into trouble and hell.”
He noted that the world has deceived many people into believing that money is the foundation of prosperity and a good life.
“The world has opened a lot of people’s eyes, making money the seed to prosperity and a prosperous life in this world,” he said.
“But money doesn’t give you strength. What God can do, no amount of money can do that.”
Evangelist Awuah urged Christians to find contentment in what God has provided and to resist envy and greed, which he described as tools Satan uses to destroy lives and relationships.
“Let what God has given you be abundant for you,” he said. “The Bible tells us not to envy our brother’s wife. Satan is making people greedy.”
“If You Love God, the World Will Be Your Enemy”
The evangelist further warned that the pursuit of worldly gain has pushed many into criminality.
“The world has made a lot of people turn into thieves,” he stated. “You employ someone today in your firm or company and then that person will start to steal from you because of envy and greediness.”
He concluded by urging believers to walk closely with God in order to secure eternal life.
“If you love God then the world will be your enemy,” Evangelist Awuah said. “Walk with God so that you can make it to eternal life.”
The all-night service drew hundreds of worshippers who spent hours in prayer, worship, and teaching centered on holiness, vigilance, and dependence on God.
