The Grassroots members of the New Patriotic Party in the Ashanti Region are rallying behind legal practitioner and party stalwart, Kingsley Bonsu-Kyeretwie Esq., urging delegates to elect him as the next Deputy Secretary of the Ashanti Regional NPP.

Describing him as the “perfect and superb candidate” for the position, constituency executives, polling station officers, and youth organizers say Mr. Bonsu-Kyeretwie represents the discipline, loyalty, and organizational strength the party needs to retain its dominance in the region ahead of 2028.

Speaking to the media in Kumasi, several grassroots leaders said Mr. Bonsu-Kyeretwie has consistently worked with the base without seeking recognition.
According to them, his accessibility, legal support to constituencies, and commitment to party structures make him the ideal deputy to help run the regional secretariat.

“We at the grassroots know Kingsley Bonsu-Kyeretwie. He is not a seasonal politician. He has been with us in the trenches, solving problems, offering legal advice, and supporting constituency executives,” said a polling station executive from Oforikrom.

“He is calm, he is smart, and he understands party administration. He is the perfect superb candidate for Deputy Secretary.”

Why The Grassroots Are Backing Him
The grassroots campaign highlights three key reasons for their overwhelming support:
1. Organizational Capacity
As a lawyer and administrator, Mr. Bonsu-Kyeretwie is expected to bring order, proper documentation, and efficiency to the regional secretariat. Grassroots members say the region needs a Deputy Secretary who can keep proper records, coordinate with 47 constituencies, and ensure smooth communication between the regional executive and the base.
2. Loyalty And Unity
Delegates described him as a unifier who does not engage in factionalism. They believe his temperament will help heal divisions and bring all factions together for a common goal: winning decisively in 2028.
3. Legal And Strategic Support
With his legal background, Mr. Bonsu-Kyeretwie is positioned to support the party on constitutional matters, internal dispute resolution, and the protection of the NPP’s electoral interests at the regional level.
“After 2024, we need serious people in office. Kingsley has the brains, the humility, and the energy. He will make the Deputy Secretary’s office work for the grassroots,” a constituency youth organizer stated.

Mr. Bonsu-Kyeretwie, in engagements with delegates across the region, has pledged to make the Deputy Secretary’s office the “engine room” of the Ashanti Regional NPP.
His key commitments include:
– Strengthening Constituency Support: Providing administrative and legal assistance to constituency secretaries.
– Modernizing Party Records: Digitizing membership and correspondence systems for efficiency and transparency.
– Youth And Women Inclusion: Creating more opportunities for young people and women in party administration.
– Unity And Mobilization: Working to unite all factions in the region to protect the NPP’s “World Bank” status.
“I am not coming for a title. I am coming to serve. The grassroots deserve a Deputy Secretary who will listen, work, and deliver. Together, we will build a stronger, more united NPP in Ashanti,” Mr. Bonsu-Kyeretwie told delegates.
As the NPP prepares for regional executive elections, grassroots leaders are urging delegates to look beyond popularity and vote for competence, loyalty, and track record.
“Delegates, this is our chance to get it right. Elect Kingsley Bonsu-Kyeretwie Esq. as Deputy Secretary. He is tested, he is trusted, and he is ready. He is the perfect superb candidate for Ashanti NPP,” a group of constituency executives said in a joint statement.
With Ashanti Region expected to play a decisive role in the party’s 2028 strategy, the grassroots believe electing Mr. Bonsu-Kyeretwie will send a strong signal that the NPP is serious about organization, unity, and victory.
