Evangelist Akwasi Awuah Warns Christians Against Spiritual Blindness, Says Witches And Bad Spirits Are Everywhere

The Founder and Leader of the Pillar of Zion Church International, Evangelist Akwasi Awuah, has issued a strong warning to Christians to seek divine spiritual enlightenment and discernment to overcome evil machinations in these times.

Preaching to a packed congregation during a powerful Watchnight service on September 18, 2026, at the church’s headquarters, the evangelist bemoaned the growing spiritual blindness among many believers, which he said has made them vulnerable to attacks.

Evangelist Awuah charged Christians to be extremely vigilant and mindful of whom they choose to associate themselves with, stressing that evil influences have infiltrated every sphere of human life.

According to him, many Christians suffer unexplained setbacks and spiritual attacks simply because they lack the spiritual eyes to discern the true nature and intentions of people around them.

“There are witches, wizards and bad spirits everywhere. As a Christian, you must seek for God’s spiritual eye opener so that you will not walk in darkness,” he admonished.

He lamented that a lot of Christians today are spiritually blinded, contrasting the current situation with the past when Christians were more spiritually aggressive.

“Some Christians used to fire gunshots at Satan during prayers, some also used canes to whip Satan during prayers. Today, where are they?” he quizzed, calling for a return to genuine spiritual warfare.

The Pillar of Zion leader warned that witches and wizards are no longer confined to shrines but are present in offices, churches, and even homes, operating under the guise of friendship and familiarity.

“These witches and wizards are in the offices, churches, and homes so be watchful,” he warned, adding that friendship and association without spiritual direction can be destructive.

He emphasized that not everyone who smiles with you wishes you well, and therefore believers must not be carried away by outward appearances.

Evangelist Akwasi Awuah further called on Christians to intensify their prayer life, live a life of holiness, and constantly seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit in order to triumph over the schemes of the enemy.

The all-night service, which attracted hundreds of members and visitors, was marked by intense prayer sessions, spirit-filled worship, and prophetic declarations.
