The Member of Parliament for Wassa Amenfi Central, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, has called on independent candidates and their supporters in the constituency to stop taking credit for development projects and employment opportunities initiated by the government.
Speaking at a meeting with party supporters, the MP stressed that all ongoing and completed interventions in the constituency are the direct result of coordinated efforts by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government under President John Dramani Mahama, together with national executives, ministers, the MP’s office, and the District Chief Executive.
Clarifying Credit for Development Interventions
Hon. Joana Cudjoe expressed concern over what she described as attempts by some individuals to mislead the public by claiming responsibility for government employment opportunities. She said such actions are intended to create disaffection between constituents and the NDC leadership.
“All the achievements we are witnessing across the constituency and the country are products of the NDC administration’s policies and commitment to national development. These efforts deserve proper recognition,” she stated.
The MP urged residents to distinguish between political posturing and actual governance, emphasizing that infrastructure, social programs, and job opportunities delivered in Wassa Amenfi Central are outcomes of the government’s “Reset Ghana” agenda for economic sustainability and national progress.
Call for Party Unity and Discipline
Addressing party faithful, Madam Cudjoe called for unity, discipline, and focus as the NDC works to consolidate its presence in the constituency and nationwide. She cautioned both internal and external detractors against activities that could undermine party cohesion and derail development efforts.
“Let us breathe, think, eat and sing NDC as we work together to advance the ‘Reset Ghana’ agenda,” she said. “Unity, discipline and commitment to the party’s agenda remain essential ingredients for sustaining development and ensuring long-term political success.”
She commended loyal members who have remained dedicated to the ideals of the party, describing the NDC as “our heart, our blood, our anchor, our family and our everything.”
Commendation for Mahama Administration
Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe praised the Mahama administration for what she termed significant developmental strides across various sectors of the economy. She cited improvements in infrastructure, education, health, and job creation as evidence of the government’s commitment to national transformation.
The MP encouraged Ghanaians to continue supporting the administration’s vision, noting that sustained progress depends on collective effort and public confidence in the NDC’s development plan.
She concluded by urging party supporters to intensify grassroots mobilization, engage constituents constructively, and ensure accurate information reaches the public on the sources and impact of government projects in Wassa Amenfi Central.
