The Founder and Leader of Pillar of Zion Church International, Evangelist Akwasi Awuah, has warned Christians to make the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ meaningful in their lives by living a life of genuine thanksgiving to God.

Speaking to his congregation during a church service ahead of the church’s upcoming “Eagle Hour Thanksgiving Service” slated for Sunday, October 4, the man of God said it is unfortunate that many Christians take the death and resurrection of Christ for granted.

According to him, Christ died a painful and shameful death on the cross not because He had sinned, but to redeem mankind from sin, eternal condemnation and to reconcile humanity back to God. Therefore, the least a believer can do is to show appreciation through thanksgiving and holy living.

“If Christ did not die, where would you and I be today? His death gave us life, hope and salvation. We must not let that sacrifice be in vain. Make His death meaningful by thanking God always,” Evangelist Akwasi Awuah charged.
He noted that thanksgiving should not be seasonal but a daily lifestyle that reflects a believer’s understanding of what Christ has done.

Evangelist Awuah further noted that many Christians are quick to complain and ask God for more, but are slow to thank Him for what He has already done through His Son.
Backing his message with scripture, he quoted 2 Corinthians 5:15 “And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again,” and Colossians 3:17 ” And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.”
He therefore called on all believers to use the upcoming Eagle Hour Thanksgiving Service as an opportunity to return all glory to God and to rededicate themselves to living lives that honour the sacrifice of Christ.
