The Founder and Leader of Pillar of Zion Church International, Evangelist Akwasi Awuah, has urged Christians to make every effort to preach salvation to their parents and lead them to Christ before their death.
Speaking to a large congregation at the ongoing “Heaven Is A Must 2026”, a week-long powerful revival programme organized by the Eternal Liberty Ministry ( E.L.I.M. ) at Kwadaso Estate in the Ashanti Region.
Evangelist Awuah lamented that many Christians today are not in good terms with their parents. According to him, they neglect their parental responsibilities and fail to share the word of God with them, yet when their parents die, they expect to benefit from their funerals because during such sorrowful moments donations are made.
Referencing Ezekiel 1:20, he stressed that believers must be moved by the Spirit to direct their households toward God, and not wait until it is too late.
He further cautioned against Christians who stop attending church because members failed to attend their parents’ funeral.
“Someone will even stop going to a particular church because the church members didn’t attend his or her parent’s funeral. Woe betide you if you base on that to stop church,” he stated emphatically.
Evangelist Awuah advised Christians to value the salvation of their parents more than funeral contributions, and to maintain their commitment to God irrespective of who attends or does not attend a family funeral.
The week-long programme is expected to attract thousands of worshippers from across the Ashanti Region and beyond.
