The Manso Nkwanta Constituency Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Daniel Kwaku Mensah widely known as DKM, says the absence of two key figures of the party has cast a mood of deep sorrow over members during the party’s National Congress.

According to Mr. Mensah, the party is in deepest sorrow for not having both the former Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, and the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Esq. Nana Baffour Awuah, with them at the congress.

Speaking to journalists at the congress grounds, the Constituency Organizer expressed disappointment over the current situation surrounding the two prominent members.
Mr. Mensah described the detention of the Manhyia South MP as politically motivated.

“Nana Baffour Awuah’s detention is a political arrest by the ruling NDC government,” he alleged.
He argued that the absence of Chairman Wontumi and Hon. Baffour Awuah, who have been instrumental in the growth and strength of the party especially in the Ashanti Region, was deeply felt by the grassroots and the entire party faithful.

Mr. Mensah called on party members to remain united and steadfast despite the challenges, and urged the leadership to continue to stand in solidarity with the affected members.
