The Deputy Secretary hopeful for the New Patriotic Party in the Ashanti Region, Kingsley Bonsu-Kyeretwie Esq., popularly known as KBK, has said his years of contribution to the party through youth engagement, TESCON, and direct support to individuals make him the right candidate for the position.
KBK made the declaration after officially submitting his nomination forms to contest for the Deputy Secretary position in the region, outlining a campaign focused on data accuracy, grassroots mobilization, and party unity ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Track Record And Vision For The Party
Speaking to delegates and party supporters after the filing, KBK said his commitment to the NPP has been consistent and practical.
“I have contributed significantly to the party through the youth, TESCON and individuals,” he stated. “That experience and dedication is what makes me the right choice for this post. The party needs leadership that understands the base and can deliver results on the ground.”
The legal practitioner noted that the Ashanti Region, as the NPP’s biggest stronghold, must lead by example in organization and record-keeping if the party is to retain power in 2028.
Focus On Data Correction And Grassroots Mobilization
KBK outlined accurate data management as one of his key priorities if elected.
“I will make sure of accurate data correction,” he said. “We need a credible and up-to-date party register. When our data is right, our planning, mobilization, and targeting become more effective.”
He added that making the party more attractive to the people, especially at the grassroots level, will be central to his work. According to him, a revitalized grassroots structure is critical to “bringing back the Elephant into power” in the 2028 polls.
“Our people at the base must feel valued, informed, and involved,” KBK noted. “That is how we turn our stronghold into an impregnable fortress and translate it into national victory.”
Confident Of Victory, Committed To Unity
Expressing optimism about the upcoming internal elections, KBK said he is confident of securing a strong mandate from delegates.
“I’m confident in winning 70% for the post,” he stated.
Beyond the contest, he stressed that unity will be his guiding principle after the elections.
“At the end of all the party issues, unity will be served,” he said. “This is about the NPP in Ashanti Region and the NPP in government. We must contest fiercely but come together immediately after to work for our common goal.”
The NPP is expected to hold regional executive elections in the coming months as part of its reorganization efforts ahead of the 2028 general elections.
