The Member of Parliament for Kwabre East Constituency, Hon. Akwasi Gyamfi Onyina-Acheampong, has extended support to 1,000 newly admitted Senior High School (SHS) students from the constituency with educational materials and financial assistance.

The presentation, which took place at a brief ceremony in the municipality, included exercise books, mathematical sets, school bags, mattresses and cash to cover the cost of prospectus and other essentials for the fresh students.

Addressing the students and their parents, Hon. Onyina-Acheampong congratulated all 1,000 beneficiaries, with special commendation to 25 students who excelled with distinction in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

He encouraged the students to remain focused and disciplined as they begin their second-cycle education, noting that education remains the most powerful tool for transforming their lives and the future of the constituency.
“All leaders in this constituency – our Nananom, parents, assembly members and everyone in a position of responsibility are solidly behind your education. We are monitoring your progress and we expect you to become profitable and responsible citizens to Kwabre East, the Ashanti Region and Ghana as a whole,” the MP stated.

Hon. Onyina-Acheampong assured the students of his continued commitment to supporting their academic journey, pledging that his office will provide any necessary resources that will help them succeed as students.

In a related development, the MP also called on security agencies in the municipality, particularly the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Immigration Service, to make effective use of motorcycles and other logistics provided to enhance the protection of lives and property.
He further disclosed that support has also been extended to the Ghana National Fire Service with the provision of fire extinguishers, a printer and a standby generator to serve as backup for the lighting system at the Kwabre Kenyasi hospital.

On his part, the Municipal Director of Education, Nana Adu Mensah Asare, who also serves as Kumasi Asafohene Otumfuo Brempon Nana, cautioned parents to take active interest in the upbringing and academic monitoring of their wards.

He urged parents not to neglect their responsibilities but to guide their children to become responsible and productive members of society. He also pledged to ensure proper maintenance and judicious use of all equipment received for schools in the municipality.

Some of the beneficiary students who spoke after receiving the items expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Onyina-Acheampong for the gesture, describing it as timely and life-changing as they prepare to start SHS.
