A former Research and Elections Officer for the Ejisu Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Kwame Danquah Oyeeman I, widely known in private life as Dominic Danquah (D.D.), has advised all aspirants vying for national positions in the party to uphold the integrity of the NPP and make the party’s interest their first priority before, during and after the campaign.
Nana Oyeeman I gave the counsel in an exclusive interaction with Kumasi Pioneer Online Portal in Kumasi, ahead of the party’s highly anticipated National Delegates Conference scheduled for October 3, 2026.
According to the former constituency officer, the NPP is at a crucial stage where it needs to rebuild, reconcile and re-energize its base following its recent electoral challenges, and therefore candidates for national leadership must demonstrate high levels of maturity, discipline and selflessness.
“I have served this party at the constituency level as Research and Elections Officer for Ejisu, so I understand what it means to build from the grassroots. My advice to all national aspirants is simple: uphold the integrity of the party. Let the NPP’s interest be your first priority, not your personal interest,” he stated.
Nana Kwame Danquah Oyeeman I cautioned against campaigns characterized by insults, character assassination, tribal sentiments and division, warning that such conduct not only tarnishes the image of the party but also weakens its chances of reclaiming power in 2028.
He stressed that national elections within the party should be seen as a contest of ideas, competence and track record, and not as an opportunity to create enmity.
“The national election is a family affair. After October 3, we will still need everyone to come together to campaign for the NPP. If you tear the party apart today just to win a position, which party will you lead tomorrow?” he quizzed.
Drawing from his experience as a former Research and Elections Officer, Nana Oyeeman I noted that elections are won on data, strategy and unity, and not on propaganda and personal attacks.
He therefore urged aspirants to focus their messages on how they intend to strengthen the party’s structures, support polling stations and reconnect the party to its grassroots.
He also appealed to delegates to vote based on merit, loyalty, competence and sacrifice for the party, rather than succumbing to monetary inducements.
“Delegates must look beyond money. Look for leaders who have the party at heart, who understand the philosophy of the NPP, and who can unite us for victory,” he added.
Nana Oyeeman I expressed confidence that the upcoming National Delegates Conference in Kumasi will be peaceful and successful, and will produce national executives capable of leading the NPP to recapture power.
He wished all aspirants well and called for a clean, respectful and issue-based campaign.
