The National Leadership of the Base Movement has presented a brand-new Ford GMC vehicle to its Ashanti Regional Chapter to strengthen grassroots mobilization ahead of the group’s main Unity Walk scheduled for 4 July 2026.

The donation was announced on behalf of the movement founder, Nana Oti Bonsu and the Chief Operations Coordinator Jacob Osei Yeboah, popularly known as JOY.

Speaking at the presentation, Nana Otupiri Darko, a member of the Operations and Communications team, said the vehicle was intended to expand the movement’s reach and visibility across the Ashanti Region.

“This donation is to make the Base Movement gain grounds in the Ashanti Region, especially ahead of our upcoming main Unity Walk event on 4 July 2026,” Nana Darko said. “The vehicle will help us to do more of our grassroots mobilization and engage communities more effectively.”
He added that the movement was building momentum toward the 2028 general elections, expressing confidence that the Base Movement would secure political power.

Nana Darko also issued a warning to opposition parties, stating that the group’s ongoing organizational drive across the region would position it as a formidable force.
Receiving the vehicle on behalf of the Ashanti Regional Chapter, Nana Kofi Senya thanked the national leadership for the support. He said the gesture would make the Base Movement more attractive and accessible to residents across the region.
“This vehicle is a major boost to our work on the ground,” Nana Senya said. “It shows the commitment of the national leadership to equip the regions and ensure that our message reaches every corner of Ashanti.”

The Base Movement has been conducting a series of outreach and mobilization activities in recent months, positioning itself as a growing political force.
The upcoming Unity Walk is expected to draw supporters from across all the 16 region’s as part of efforts to consolidate its base ahead of the 2028 elections.
