“Experience Matters”: Francios Bids To Become Ashanti NPP Regional Secretary

The Incumbent Ashanti Regional Organizer of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Francis Adomako, popularly known as Francios, has declared his intention to contest for the position of Regional Secretary in the party’s upcoming regional executive elections.

The seasoned party operative said the time has come for a shift in dynamics and strategy to reshape leadership in the Ashanti Region, the NPP’s biggest stronghold.

“Time To Reshape Leadership”

Speaking on his decision to move from Organizer to Secretary, Dr. Adomako said the role of Regional Secretary is central to the party’s administrative and political direction, and requires experience, coordination, and strategic planning.

“It’s time the dynamics and strategic needs are used to reshape the leadership in the region,” he stated. “The Secretary role is a vital role that matters to the growth, organization, and victory of our party.”

According to him, his years of service in the region have exposed him to the structures, challenges, and expectations of party members at all levels.

Experience And Track Record

Dr. Adomako, widely known for his humility and approachability, said he is the ideal candidate to take over the secretariat because of his experience working with past and present regional executives.

He noted that serving as Regional Organizer gave him firsthand experience in mobilization, logistics, and grassroots engagement skills he believes are critical for the Secretary position.

“I am the perfect replacement for the job, citing my experience working with all the then executives,” Francios said. “I understand the system, I understand the people, and I understand what it takes to keep the party united and focused.”

Party members in the region often describe him as a bridge-builder who maintains good working relations across constituencies and with the national leadership.

Focus On Organization And 2028

The Ashanti Region remains the NPP’s electoral fortress, and the upcoming regional elections are seen as key to reorganizing the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Dr. Adomako said his campaign will prioritize strengthening the party’s database, improving communication between the regional office and constituencies, and ensuring effective coordination of party activities.

He added that the next regional secretary must be someone who can manage administration professionally while also providing political direction to help the NPP retain and expand its support base.

Race Takes Shape

The contest for Regional Secretary is expected to be keenly contested, with several aspirants expected to file nominations in the coming weeks.

Political observers say Dr. Adomako’s move from Organizer to Secretary signals a broader realignment within the Ashanti NPP as the party prepares for internal elections and the national task ahead.

Delegates will head to the polls later this year to elect new regional executives to steer the affairs of the party in the region.
